Pat holds an Hon. B.A. from the University of Toronto in Art Education and has a Specialisation in Art History. She also obtained a Creative Arts diploma from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Pat began quilting in 1974 while in high school and has been teaching quilting since 1978. In addition to quilting, Pat is also a spinner, watercolour artist, and award-winning weaver.

Over the past decade, Pat has been active in the Canadian Quilters' Association being Assistant to the Registrar for Quilt Canada '90, Newsletter Editor and the Ontario Regional Representative.

Since 1989 Pat has been specialising in Miniature Heirloom Quilts and enjoys teaching miniature quilt techniques to guilds throughout Ontario and Canada. Her work has been shown in England, Europe, the United States and throughout Canada.

Pat's work has been published in Miniature Quilts, Popular Patchwork and The Canadian Quilter magazines. Pat has self published several of her patterns, note cards and watercolour prints. Her new studio in Innerkip, Ontario, will feature Quilt in the Country workshop days. Pat lives at Schoolhouse Cottage with her husband and three cats.
